NonsoNkwa Not Kidnapped, Arrested for Cyber stalking, Character defamation, other charges

The Imo State Police Command has arrested Mr. Chinonso Uba, known as Nonsonkwa, on October 20, 2024, following a written petition from a concerned citizen. The petition alleged that he engaged in cyberstalking, character defamation, spreading misinformation, and making inflammatory statements concerning the burning of the National Open University (NOUN) Study Center in Nsu, Ehime Mbano LGA, on September 30, 2024, which allegedly incited civil unrest.

ASP Okoye Henry, the Police Public Relations Officer reacting for Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command made this know to the general public.

Contrary to reports of his abduction, the police have clarified that Mr. Uba was not kidnapped. He is currently being detained at the State Headquarters, pending a comprehensive investigation. The authorities have indicated that he will be arraigned in court with appropriate charges after the investigation is concluded.

The Police Command has reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and order in the state, stressing that all individuals involved in the attack on the NOUN study center will face full legal consequences.
