OZLT Congratulates Imo State at 50, Hails Uzodinma’s Developmental Achievements

The Owerri Zone Leaders of Thought (OZLT) have congratulated the Government and people of Imo State as the state marks its 50th anniversary, describing the Golden Jubilee as a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to progress.

In a press release signed by its Lead Administrator, Hon. Barr. Kingsley Ononuju (Ekwedashike), the group, under the leadership of Prince Charls Amadi, extended warm congratulations to the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, and the people of the state on what it termed a historic milestone.

According to the statement, the 50th anniversary of Imo State provides an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices of the founding fathers, the resilience of Ndi Imo over the decades, and the collective responsibility to build a future anchored on unity, development, and shared prosperity.

OZLT commended Governor Uzodinma for what it described as “giant developmental strides” recorded across the state under his administration. The group cited ongoing road construction and infrastructure renewal, improvements in security, interventions in healthcare and education, rural development initiatives, and what it called purposeful governance as key highlights of the current administration.

The statement further noted that the governor’s focus on restoring confidence in governance, strengthening institutions, and laying foundations for long-term growth has contributed to improved connectivity, economic activity, and social stability across Imo State.

“As Imo State celebrates 50 years of existence, OZLT assures His Excellency of our continued support, partnership, and constructive engagement as he continues to pilot the affairs of the state,” the group said, adding that inclusive leadership, dialogue, and people-centred policies remain critical to consolidating the gains already achieved.

The Owerri Zone Leaders of Thought also called on Ndi Imo, both at home and in the diaspora, to use the Golden Jubilee celebration as a moment to recommit to peace, unity, and collective responsibility in building a stronger and more prosperous Imo State.

The group concluded by once again congratulating Governor Uzodinma, the state government, and the people of Imo State on the occasion of the state’s 50th anniversary.
