Imo @ 50: IROMA Hails Uzodimma’s Leadership, Commends Revival of Maintenance Culture

The Imo Roads Maintenance Agency (IROMA) has congratulated Governor Hope Uzodimma on the golden jubilee celebration of Imo State, praising his administration for what it described as “purposeful leadership” that rescued the state from the brink of collapse and set it on a path of sustainable recovery.

In a congratulatory message issued to mark the 50th anniversary of the creation of Imo State, the Board and Management of IROMA commended the governor’s monumental strides since assuming office, noting that his governance philosophy has restored stability, renewed public confidence, and redefined infrastructure management in the state.

According to the agency, the golden jubilee provides a moment for sober reflection on Imo’s journey over the past five decades and an opportunity to acknowledge leadership that has made a decisive difference at a critical time.

IROMA specifically highlighted Governor Uzodimma’s revival of the culture of maintenance, which led to the establishment of the Imo Roads Maintenance Agency as a strategic intervention to address infrastructural decay. The agency noted that this approach has helped to curb the wastage of scarce public resources while ensuring safer and more motorable roads across the state.

The message stated that through IROMA, the Uzodimma administration has demonstrated a commitment to prudent management of public assets, improved mobility, and enhanced quality of life for the people of Imo State.

“As Imo marks fifty years of existence, the achievements recorded under this administration underscore a clear focus on sustainability, institutional reform, and people-oriented governance,” the statement read.

The Board and Management of IROMA reaffirmed their support for the governor’s development agenda and pledged continued dedication to delivering on the mandate of road maintenance and infrastructure preservation in line with the administration’s vision.

The congratulatory message was signed by the Chairman of IROMA, Hon. Barr. Kingsley Ononunju, on behalf of the Board and Management of the agency.

Imo State was created on February 3, 1976, and the golden jubilee celebrations have been marked by reflections on the state’s past, present, and aspirations for a more resilient and prosperous future.
