‎OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Clarification on Misleading Social Media Circulation by one Humphrey Osuji and his co travelers Regarding NYCN Imo State Chapter Court Proceedings

‎Dear Imo Youths, members of the public, and all stakeholders, The Leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Imo State Chapter, under the stewardship of Comr. Stephen Akuchie, wishes to address a misleading message circulated by a fade away faction on December 18, 2025, following court proceedings at the Imo State Magistrate Court Owerri.

Yesterday, The Chairman, National Youth Council Of Nigeria Imo State Chapter Comr. Stephen Akuchie, along with key members of our Executive team, appeared before the court with utmost confidence. We were ably represented by our competent legal counsel Barr N.O Ewelike, who presented our position with clarity. The court, in its wisdom and impartiality, afforded us ample opportunity to present to plead guilty or not. As the recognized leadership of NYCN Imo State Chapter, We must state unequivocally that the so-called “BREAKING NEWS” disseminated by a faded faction under one Humphrey Osuji is a deliberate distortion of facts and does not understand or know what bail bond means. This is not a police-initiated prosecution against our leadership. Rather, it stems from a frivolous petition instituted against 7 Imo Youths including his own brother and mentor by his faction all because of power drunk, lacking any valid electoral mandate, constitutional backing, or endorsement from relevant authorities.

Our legal team decisively demonstrated these truths in court. We hold the Nigerian judicial system in the highest regard for its fairness, independence, and commitment to justice, and we look forward to the continuation of this matter with full assurance of vindication.

Note: that the above mentioned name has clinched to chairmanship power since 2017 without any election or official appointment and no single program for Imo Youths since over 8Years as against the constitution of Youth Council for 4yrs, we have stakeholders and it’s verifiable.

We urge all Imo youths to remain calm, law-abiding, and undeterred by these tactics of misinformation and division. Since assuming office, we have initiated and sustained programs including: Leadership and skills acquisition workshops across local government areas. Community outreach initiatives on youth entrepreneurship and vocational training. Advocacy for youth inclusion in state development policies. Health awareness campaigns and environmental sustainability drives tailored to youth needs. These efforts, and many more in the pipeline, reflect our core mandate: to uplift, equip, and amplify the voices of Imo youths for sustainable progress. Comr. Stephen Akuchie continues to lead with resolve, integrity, and focus on these priorities.

We call on all well-meaning Imo youths, community leaders, and partners to disregard these distractions and join hands with the legitimate NYCN leadership in advancing our collective aspirations under the Leadership of His Excellency Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodinma. Unity, focus, and adherence to due process will secure a brighter future for our state. The truth endures, and justice shall prevail.

Build the Youth; Build the Nation!
