Tinubu Affirms APC Governors as Party Leaders in Their States

President Bola Tinubu has clarified the leadership structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the states of the federation, declaring state governors as the party’s leaders in their respective domains.

The president made this known during the official reception organised for Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, in Jalingo. Tinubu stated that the APC is effectively led at the state level by each governor elected on the party’s platform.

Represented at the event by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the president explained that Governor Kefas automatically assumes the position of APC leader in Taraba State following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

Tinubu further assured the governor of the full backing of the Federal Government, pledging support for Kefas and his cabinet as they work towards accelerating development in Taraba State.

He commended the governor’s efforts at fostering unity and managing the state’s diversity in pursuit of lasting harmony and progress.

“I urge you all in Taraba to rally behind the governor and support him to succeed.

“I am satisfied with the defection of a governor in the North-East geopolitical zone, and I want both Adamawa and Bauchi to join the party at the centre,” the president said.
